Poplar Tent Classical Conversations meets on Wednesdays in Concord, NC.
Our day begins at 9am and ends at 12pm for Foundations (K4-6th grade) and 3pm for Essentials (4th-6th grade). In addition to memory work, games, and presentations, we offer a science experiment and fine arts every week for 24 weeks. Tuition is affordable and costs just $13.96 per week per child. Each class has no more than 9 students and is led by a paid tutor who is trained annually. She makes class fun and engages every student! Parents stay with their children in class and learn how to implement CC (Classical Conversations) at home.
Listen to Leigh Bortins describe the Foundations Program here.
After Foundations classes are over at noon we eat lunch together where we make friends and support each other and enjoy spending time with like-minded parents. In the meantime our children are making friends and they get to play after lunch on the playground or indoors if weather is bad out.
At 1:00, afternoon classes begin for ages 9-12 called Essentials. Listen to Leigh Bortins describe the Essentials program here. Essentials is a complete language arts program where parents sit in with children and learn how to teach their children at home for the rest of the week. You'll learn the essentials of English grammar, do fun math drills, and learn how to write beautiful papers with structure and style using the IEW curriculum. Essentials is the bridge from Foundations to Challenge. We will add a Challenge level each year beginning in 2017.
Listen to Leigh Bortins describe the Challenge programs (ages 12 and up) here.
I'm currently enrolling children ages 4 through 12 for this and next school year.
Come hear about our once-a-week, supplemental, academic programs that provide a committed Christian community of structure and support, along with great fellowship for students and parents. Use the CONTACT JENNY page to see when our next Information Meeting is.
If you have been looking for a community of homeschoolers who use the Classical Model for education, live by Christian principles, and enjoy learning, come visit us on our campus and/or come to one of these free information meetings.
NOTE: When registering please use the OTHER field to tell me a little bit about your family and the ages of your children.
